Equality and Diversity


RM Training are committed ensure that all Equality and Diversity Laws are adhered to. There are several different laws put in place to protect people from discrimination, the laws protect people from discrimination due to:

– Race

– Sex

– Sexual Orientation

– Disability

– Religion or Belief

– Being Pregnant

– Being Married or in a Civil Partnership

– Age

The Equality Act 2010 is the main law which will help to protect people from this, it put all of the laws in to one piece of legalisation and simplifies them. As of October 2010 the law has been updated to include a wider variety of issues relating to equality.

Definition of Equality

The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. It is the exploration of these differences in a safe, positive and nurturing environment. It is about understanding each other and moving beyond simple tolerance to embracing and celebrating the rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual.
