In brief…
The purpose of the course is to train assessors and quality assurance assessors to obtain the the up to date TAQA qualification and standards, which replace the A1/A2/V1/V2 units.
The course will help trainers, assessors, teachers and facilitators to develop skills which will support and guide learners.
The course will give assessors, people who conduct internal quality assurance and teachers a chance to improve their current skills and qualifications as well as gaining an extra nationally recognised qualification.

- in a teaching role;
- assessors, trainers and tutors
- quality assurance/managers;
- internal verifiers.

City & Guilds does not set entry requirements for this qualification. This introductory, knowledge-based teaching qualification has no minimum teaching practice requirement. Therefore, it may be undertaken by individuals who are not in a teaching role. However, learners need to have the potential and opportunity to achieve the qualification and there is a minimum requirement to take part in microteaching.
It is preferred that you have a minimum Level 3 qualification in your own area of specialism and hold a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
There are no requirements for teaching practice during this course.
Fees:
Up to x5 = £375 + VAT per person (includes training, refreshments and course handouts).
6 plus = £340 + VAT per person (includes training, refreshments and course handouts).
Please note that this is a full cost course and is not eligible for funding or finance.
Course Content
The modules on the course are based both on knowledge and competence. The knowledge can be completed by anyone who has a good understanding about the qualification as it allows them to acquire more knowledge and information about the role. However, the competence modules will require you to complete learning outcomes for each individual module.
