The Role & Organisation: Understanding how estate agencies operate, their structure and objectives, and how your work contributes to business plans, values, services, team targets and KPIs.
Valuation & Market Awareness: Knowing the basic principles of valuation (market, insurance, lending), rebuilding costs, lettings and investments; understanding local market data; applying RICS property measurement standards; recognising how different methods of sale affect value.
Legal & Compliance Regulation: Awareness of key laws and regulations such as the Estate Agents Act, consumer protection, data protection, client money rules, tenure, service charges, planning permissions, building regulations and codes of practice.
Marketing & Presentation: Understanding marketing advice, research using property portals and databases (Rightmove, Zoopla, Land Registry), use of social media, preparing property particulars, and presenting properties effectively.
Building & Defects Knowledge: Knowledge of building construction types and terminology; recognising common property defects such as damp or subsidence; understanding conservation areas and permitted development.
Methods of Sale: Understanding the differences between private treaty, auction (public and private) and tender (formal and informal), and the legal requirements of each.
Communication & Stakeholder Management: Managing customer and stakeholder relationships with effective verbal, written and non-verbal communication, including phone, email, and in-person interactions.
Time Management & Prioritisation: Organising and planning work effectively; prioritising tasks; working to timescales and targets; managing diaries efficiently.
Negotiation & Selling Skills: Presenting properties confidently, conducting viewings, cross-selling, making referrals, handling objections, empathising with clients, and successfully closing sales or lettings.
Administrative Efficiency: Maintaining accurate records (digital and hard copy), handling correspondence, filing, diary management, and using IT systems, databases, and equipment.
Fee Earning & Commercial Awareness: Recognising opportunities for cross-selling, referrals, and competitive advantage in the market while demonstrating awareness of business targets.
Teamwork & Collaboration: Working effectively with colleagues and external partners, supporting shared targets, problem-solving, and contributing positively to team dynamics.
Numeracy & Literacy: Using accurate business English in communications and applying numeracy skills (percentages, yields, financial calculations) in everyday tasks.
Customer-Focus: Being responsive to customer needs; delivering reliable, trustworthy and professional service; maintaining integrity and confidentiality.
Professional Presentation: Demonstrating appropriate dress, personal presentation, and acting as a positive representative of the organisation at all times.
Responsiveness & Initiative: Taking timely action on instructions, showing independence where appropriate, and adapting quickly to changes in priorities or circumstances.
Commitment & Responsibility: Taking ownership of personal development, safety and training; demonstrating reliability, consistency, good timekeeping and responsibility for work outcomes.

Entry Requirements
This apprenticeship is suitable for:
✅ Those currently working in, or aspiring to work in, estate agency or property services
✅ Individuals in roles where they support property sales, lettings, or customer service within an estate agency environment
✅ Candidates with GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (if not already achieved, Functional Skills support is available)
✅ Employees looking to build confidence, knowledge, and practical skills in property sales, lettings, marketing, and customer care
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for apprenticeship funding, learners must:
Be aged 16 or over
Be employed in a relevant role for at least 30 hours per week
Have the right to work in England and have been resident in the UK/EEA for at least 3 years (some exceptions apply)
Not already hold a similar qualification at the same or higher level
