FUNDING & INCENTIVES

Apprenticeships are a cost-effective way for businesses to train, upskill, and develop their workforce. Whether you are a large employer paying the Apprenticeship Levy or a smaller business looking for affordable training solutions, Government funding is available to support apprenticeship programmes.

Non-Levy Employers (Annual pay bill under £3 million)

If your business does not pay the Apprenticeship Levy, you can still access Government-funded apprenticeships, with the Government up to 100% of the training costs.

📌 How it works:
✅ The Government funds up to 100% of apprenticeship training costs, if the learner is under the age of 21.
✅ If the learner is over 21, your business contributes just 5% towards the cost of training.
✅ Funding is managed through the Digital Apprenticeship Service (DAS), which we can help you set up.

Levy-Paying Employers (Annual pay bill over £3 million)

If your company has a pay bill over £3 million per year, you are required to pay the Apprenticeship Levy. This is charged at 0.5% of your total annual pay bill and is collected through PAYE.

📌 How it works:
✅ Your Levy contributions are held in a digital account and can only be used for apprenticeship training.
✅ The Government tops up your funds by 10%, increasing your available budget.
✅ You can transfer up to 50% of your unused funds to other employers, such as supply chain partners or smaller businesses.

💡 Maximise Your Levy Funds – If you don’t utilise your Levy funds, they expire after two years, meaning your business misses out on valuable training opportunities.

Employer Incentives

There are additional incentives available for employers who take on apprentices:

✅ £1,000 Grant – Employers receive a £1,000 incentive for hiring an apprentice aged 16-18 (or up to 24 if they have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or have been in care).
✅ No National Insurance Contributions – Employers do not have to pay National Insurance (NI) for apprentices under the age of 25, helping to reduce employment costs.

💡 Let us help you access the maximum funding and incentives available to your business.
